Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. The free plan is free forever and requires no payment details.
Which file formats are supported?
PlanWerke opens BIM models as IFC (2x3 and 4) plus glTF/GLB, OBJ and PLY/PCD – and 2D drawings as DXF/DWG (vector) or PDF (raster). Everything runs directly in the browser, no conversion needed.
Where are my models stored?
Viewing and computation run locally in the browser – opening and reviewing a model requires no upload. A model is only uploaded when you deliberately save it to a cloud project: the free plan includes 1 project with 15 MB of cloud storage (straight from the viewer, too), the Pro plan unlimited projects and larger models. You decide what goes to the cloud.
What does automatic smoke-detector planning do?
Detectors are placed automatically to DIN 14676-1 / DIN VDE 0833-2 on IFC models and 2D drawings – including coverage radii, a validation report and exports (CSV bill of materials, IFC, BCF, DXF). It is available without a subscription in your free project; further projects require the Pro plan.
What does "1 free project with premium features" mean?
Every account gets one project in which the premium features work without a subscription: automatic smoke-detector placement, the fire alarm system planner and the exports. So you can take one project all the way through before deciding. It is your oldest project; the dashboard marks it "Premium included". It comes with 15 MB of cloud storage: you can park your file there – straight from the viewer, too, if you opened it without a project. The Pro plan lifts the quantities: unlimited projects, larger models (500 MB per file) and cloud storage without a quota.
Is there a free trial month on the Pro plan?
No. The Pro plan is paid from day one. You can still try PlanWerke without payment details: the free plan includes one project in which all premium features are unlocked – automatic smoke-detector placement, the fire alarm system planner and the exports. The subscription can be cancelled monthly, effective at the end of the billing period.
What do intruder alarm (IAS) and voice alarm (VAS) planning cost?
Nothing. Intruder alarm (EMA) and voice alarm (SAA) planning are marked as beta: they are still under development and therefore free on every plan – including the free plan and without payment details. We are focusing entirely on the fire alarm system (BMA) first. Should that change, we will announce it beforehand – in the help centre changelog and on this page.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. The Pro, Team and AI Copilot plans can be cancelled monthly – effective at the end of the billing period, via the customer portal or at /kuendigen. For teams this also ends the per-seat billing.
