Plan intruder-alarm systems to DIN VDE 0833-3 — every access detected, straight from the IFC model

PlanWerke reads doors and windows from the IFC model, places opening contacts and motion detectors and structures detector groups and security areas — VdS-oriented, export-ready as CSV. The IAS module is in beta and free on every plan while it is.

The normative framework

DIN VDE 0833-3

Planning & operation

Alarm systems for intrusion and hold-up: monitoring types and detector groups are derived from the model in a structured way.

EN 50131

System of grades

The European standards series for intruder-alarm systems provides the framework for components and security grades of the planning.

VdS-ORIENTED

Security areas

The structuring into security areas and detector groups per floor follows the VdS methodology — a clean basis for installers and certification.

02

What the IAS planning takes care of

  • Door & window contacts automatically from IFC openings
  • Motion detectors placed by focus & trap logic
  • Detector groups & security areas per floor
  • Perimeter & room monitoring visible in 3D
  • Manual refinement right in the model
  • Bill of materials as CSV · handover via BCF
03

Three monitoring types, one model

1

Opening monitoring

Magnetic contacts on doors & windows — straight from the IFC openings of the perimeter.

2

Trap monitoring

Motion detectors in circulation routes & corridors an intruder has to pass.

3

Focus monitoring

Densified monitoring of particularly sensitive rooms & areas.

Questions about IAS planning

Which monitoring types does the IAS planning cover?

Opening monitoring on doors and windows via magnetic contacts, trap-style room monitoring via motion detectors in circulation routes, and focused monitoring of particularly sensitive areas.

Does PlanWerke take the VdS guidelines into account?

The structuring into detector groups and security areas follows the VdS methodology. Binding design, acceptance and certification remain the responsibility of installers and experts.

What is exported for quoting and installation?

A bill of materials of all contacts and detectors per room, group and floor as CSV, plus BCF comments on the model for coordination between planner and installer.

What does IAS planning cost?

Nothing. Intruder-alarm planning is marked as beta: it is still under development and therefore free on every plan — including the free plan. We are focusing entirely on the fire alarm system (BMA) first, and results may change with future versions. Any change will be announced beforehand in the help centre changelog.
